Lisa M. Tittemore
Lisa M. Tittemore is a partner at Bromberg & Sunstein. Lisa focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation, including management of complex patent litigation, trademark and trade dress litigation, and copyright litigation. Lisa has extensive experience with the development and management of client trademark portfolios, and is the Chair of the firm’s Copyright Practice Group.
Experience
- Litigates large-scale patent infringement cases, in fields as diverse as telecommunications, computer software and hardware, consumer products, medical equipment, and plastics.
- Litigates issues of copyright infringement, including the successful resolution through mediation of a case involving the ground-breaking work of a prominent feminist.
- Litigates trademark infringement cases, including cases involving leading edge issues of personal jurisdiction, use of trademarks on the Internet, and cybersquatting.
- Litigates other business disputes, including running the damages portion of a case involving false advertising and commercial disparagement of musical instruments that resulted in a $20.7 million dollar jury verdict for our client.
- Counsels clients regarding management of trademark portfolios, including global pharmaceutical, software, and consumer products companies.
- Manages prosecution and enforcement of trademark applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), including opposition proceedings and argument before the USPTO Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
- Manages prosecution and enforcement of trademark applications and registrations before the European Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) and other jurisdictions.
Professional and Community Involvement
- Current Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Federal Practice and Procedure Committee; past Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Litigation Committee (2005-2007).
- Board of Directors of Massachusetts Chapter of Federal Bar Association for 2008-2009 (commencing Oct. 1, 2008).
- Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Children and Youth Outreach Task Force (2003-05).
- Coordinates the firms involvement in the Citizen Schools 8th Grade Academy tutoring program; five years as a tutor of students in Boston Public Schools. Spearheaded firm’s sponsorship of a Massachusetts high school team in the FIRST Robotics Competition.
- Published frequently on the topic of intellectual property protection. Author of practice guide "Protecting and Enforcing Copyright" (MCLE, Inc., 2nd Edition).
- Significant pro bono work with artists and artisans. Member of the panel of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts’ Legal Referral Program.
- Mentoring activities with Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts, Tufts Lawyers Association.
