John L. Conway

John L. Conway is an associate at Bromberg & Sunstein, where he specializes in patent prosecution. John prepares and prosecutes U.S. and foreign patent applications in a variety of electrical and mechanical technologies, with a focus on computer-related inventions. The technologies have included information systems, data management, application development, video graphic systems, data storage, and a variety of sophisticated mechanical devices.

Experience

John has obtained numerous U.S. and foreign patents for national companies and institutions in the electrical and mechanical arts.
Prior to attending law school, John worked for over 25 years in the computer industry, focusing on networking, telecommunications, and workstation technology.
John worked as a Principal Engineer for the MITRE Corporation where he designed leading-edge computer networks and display stations for a variety of customers including the U.S. Air Force, NASA, and other government agencies.
John served as Director of Engineering for MICOM-Interlan, a startup manufacturer of computer networking equipment, and as an engineering manager for Computervision, a leading vendor of CAD/CAM systems.
Prior to his management experience, John worked for a number of years as an engineer designing sophisticated workstation and networking products and is expert in digital design, computer architecture and software development.
John has published papers and lectured on the applicability of commercial graphics software to military command and control systems.

John is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

John is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and has been admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
