Kerry L. Timbers
Kerry L. Timbers is a partner at Bromberg & Sunstein, and has been with the firm since 1988. He concentrates his practice in intellectual property litigation, including litigation of patent, trademark, and copyright cases, and is also Chair of the firm's Trademark Practice Group. He has extensive experience, including trials in both jury and non-jury cases, and arguments before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Experience
- He has handled and had significant involvement in numerous complex patent litigations covering a wide range of technologies, including file server operating system architectures, telephony control systems, pharmaceuticals, dialysis machines, electrochemical medical diagnostic devices, intravenous valves and equipment, electric motors, x-ray cargo inspection systems, a variety of consumer-oriented plastics products and plastics manufacturing processes, printing press and paper-making technologies, and mechanical compression packing.
- Kerry also has extensive experience in all aspects of trademark and copyright protection and litigation, representing nationally recognized firms in courts and before the Patent and Trademark Office and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
- As Chair of the firm's Trademark Practice Group, Kerry also has significant involvement in shaping and implementing strategies for the protection, licensing, and enforcement of clients' trademark portfolios.
Professional and Community Involvement
- He is a member of the Boston Bar Association, and has been Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association Intellectual Property Litigation Committee, and is currently Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association International Intellectual Property Law Committee.
- He is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the International Trademark Association.

- Kerry has received the highest peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell, based on a survey of other lawyers and judges in the community.
- In 2005, 2006 and 2007, Kerry was named by the publishers of Law & Politics and Boston magazine as a "Super Lawyer" in the field of intellectual property in Massachusetts, which is limited to the top 5 percent of attorneys in each state, as chosen by their peers and through independent research.
